Now representing São Paulo in the Miss Universe Brazil competition, Milla stands as a beacon of resilience, diversity, and ambition. In this exclusive interview, she opens up about her remarkable experiences, the lessons she’s learned, and her advice for the next generation of aspiring models.
How does your previous experience as Miss Supranational Brazil in 2014 help you prepare for the upcoming Miss Universe Brazil competition?
It was only after that experience that I felt the need to learn other languages. So, I immediately started studying—without a teacher, just on my own. Now, I speak four languages. I consider my time as Miss Supranational Brazil 2014 my greatest gift, and it has given me more confidence as I aim to represent my country once again.
What has been your most memorable experience while living and working in more than 10 countries as an international model?
I have so many! But hosting a fashion and cooking TV show in Spanish was a big challenge. I was nervous—I had been in TV commercials before, but I had never spoken on camera, haha. But that experience changed everything for me—it was the turning point that helped me grow beyond just being a model.
How has speaking four languages shaped your career and allowed you to connect with different cultures in the fashion industry?
It has been absolutely essential. I know I wouldn’t be where I am in my career if I couldn’t communicate. Living and working with people from all over the world, from different cultures and perspectives, has taught me so much!
Representing São Paulo in the Miss Universe Brazil competition must be an incredible honor. How does it feel to represent such a dynamic and diverse state?
São Paulo is the most populous state in Brazil—44 million people! It’s almost like a country within a city. I love my state. You find people from all over Brazil here, which gives us incredible gastronomic and cultural diversity. It’s a state without limits, where everything works 24 hours a day.
As someone who has worked with prestigious brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, what advice would you give to young models aspiring to break into the international fashion scene?
Dedication, effort, and discipline are key. But first, you need to know what you want, then believe in your heart that it’s possible. Create strategies and work hard! Remember that where you are now doesn’t define where you can go. I hope you go far!
